WHAT IS A HYBRID CONTACT LENS?

A SynergEyes hybrid lens is an advanced technology contact lens that seamlessly combines a rigid centre, which provides great vision, with a soft silicone-hydrogel outer skirt to provide exceptional stability and comfort. Both parts of the lens are made from high oxygen, breathable materials for excellent eye health.
WHO CAN WEAR HYBRID LENSES?

Anyone can wear hybrid contact lenses. If you have astigmatism, a hybrid lens can provide much sharper, clearer vision than regular soft toric contact lenses. The hard lens centre neutralises corneal astigmatism without lens rotational issues that often occur with soft lenses. That means better driving vision at night, eliminating halos and glare.
​RGP lenses deliver great vision but patients who wear them will appreciate that small-diameter RGP lenses move with each blink, which can be sometimes be uncomfortable or annoying. A hybrid lens with its soft skirt stabilises the movement of the lens, significantly improving wearing comfort, all day long.
​Patients with high myopia or hyperopia, irregular corneas, high levels of astigmatism and kerataconus will benefit most from the advantages that hybrid contact lenses provide.
